Eupopean Programs

Our school has already experience of participation in several European programs, in which our teachers and students visit many European countries and had the opportunity of meeting students from different countries and the chance of knowing different cultures and ways of living. We are open for cooperation with schools or authorities from all Europe, in order to carry out projects, school patterns, student and teacher exchange, training and, generally, to what would interest the educational community.

 

Our school participates in the EU Programmes projects in order to get the following objectives:

  • to develop the European dimension in education and environment;
  • to promote innovation and intercultural understanding in education;
  • to give students and teachers motivation towards communicating in other European languages in real life situations;
  • to improve students’ and teachers’ level of English, team skills and computer skills

For the schoolyears 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 our school took part in two programmes, Comenius (Hand in hand for the environment protection) and Leonardo da Vinci ( New and Alternative Tourism Enterprises).

 

a) comenius program "Hand in hand for the environment protection":

Schools from different parts of Europe: Spain, Turkey, Poland, Bulgaria, Italy and Greece, coordinated by Romania have decided to initiate the Comenius multilateral partnership “Hand in hand for the environment protection”.
We aim to develop environmental conscience in our pupils and as a result in the future to achieve a number of effects like less resource use, less waste, more energy saving. We will do this through interdisciplinary approaches, efficient partnerships and multicultural perspectives. This will empower individuals and institutions to contribute to sustainability.
Thus we want to carry out some activities which will lead to reaching our objectives. The main activities are: different surveys regarding organic/ inorganic food consumption, water and energy consumption and ways of transportation in every family and in every country involved in the project, research about deforestation, water pollution, exhaust fumes pollution, traditional sources of energy and alternative renewable sources of energy,experiments with energy and visits to places for renewable sources of energy,art exhibition and fashion show made of recycled materials and voluntary activities.
The final products will be a brochure which will comprise most of our work results, a small dictionary on environmental terms, scale models, a web-page and a CD with the results of all the surveys developed. We will also make different leaflets and posters.
By our activities and final products we believe that we will manage to make our pupils to become eco-friendly consumers and to promote similar behavior in their family and community. We will create an awareness of the impacts and effects of behaviors and lifestyles ,on both the local and global environments, and on short-term and long-term.

 

b) Leonardo program "New and Alternative Tourism Enterprises":

The potential for tourism within Europe is not yet fully developed: the tourism industry may yet be regularized and job and business opportunities further increased.
This project aims to set indications and propose ideas with a view to helping and stimulating business creation in an innovative sector, i.e.that which relates to flight services within leisure and tourism.
The partners involved are: Turkey, Italy, Bulgaria, Poland, Belgium, Romania and Greece.
Partner typology has been carefully selected so as to cover all the aspects involved in such a peculiar project: town councils, schools, a private company producing helium balloons, a non-profit association dealing with Media.
Citizen participation as well as the extensive use of IT technologies, and the great part played by communication tools, have all been forecast.
The partnership will also use an e-learning platform to enhance the learning process and to store all the contributions of the partners. At the end of the project a promotional DVD with video reports of the partner meetings, sites and activities will be produced to disseminate the project results.
